“Enter into children's play and you will find the place where their minds, hearts, and souls meet.”

An experienced, dedicated play therapist can help your child and family heal and grow through some of life's toughest challenges.

-Virginia Axline

We can help reduce stress, heal from the past, and create a brighter future.

We specialize in strengthening relationships, allowing for understanding of the child beyond the behavior, and equipping the child (and family!) with tools to increase regulation and confidence.

MEET THE FOUNDER

I’M KATIE, AND I SEE YOU.

I’m so glad you’re here. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Registered Play Therapist (RPT), I feel privileged to work alongside children and families during some of the most trying times. I believe deeply in leading with curiosity and respect, find change occurs best in connection and relationship, and strive to assist families in building confidence through meaningful exploration and support of your child and family.

Through many years of treating children and families, I’ve seen how devastating and overwhelming being “stuck” in negative patterns, questioning for answers, and/or longing for change can leave families.  Together, we will collaborate on identification of current patterns, gain understanding of your child, and develop improved coping and resiliency in the face of challenge, while hopefully having some FUN in play while doing it.

You get the best results when you find someone you connect with, someone you can have confidence in, and feel rest assured they are working for your best interest.

What can you expect from our sessions?

We know kids use play to process their experiences, to practice what they’re learning, and to problem-solve in an effort to build NEW ways of responding in difficult situations.

Child-centered play therapy allows for the child to lead the interaction, provides opportunities for activation of the brain, and creates deeper connection AND change then could be achieved through talking alone. Through their play, we access their world views, their patterns of thought, and their behavior.

We know that children are naturally inclined to move toward positive growth, thus, the play therapy environment provides the opportunity for your child to work through fears and develop adaptive coping skills in a setting that is made just for them.
